Therese specializes in trauma recovery and women’s issues.
Therese holds a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and a MS degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. She enjoys working with adolescents, young adults and adult women of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma and relationship issues. She has experience working with couples struggling with relationship issues as well. Therese recognizes that humans were made to be in relationship. Many mental health and emotional issues stem from unhealthy relationships, with self or others.

Therese takes a holistic approach to counseling integrating the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of a client’s life. Therese uses a strength based, positive approach to counseling incorporating Adlerian and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. She is trained in trauma resolution and the treatment of anxiety disorders, including OCD and panic disorder and brings a unique perspective into the office and counseling relationship. With appropriate tools and insight, clients can make changes, moving towards better mental health and healthier relationships. Therese brings a Christian perspective into counseling when it fits with the client’s beliefs and value system. She does, however, value and respect the rights and beliefs of all clients, regardless of their religious backgrounds.
